Sam's Homecoming

HEY SAM...YOU'RE GOING HOME
When Sam heard this he was wide eyed...

So we dressed him up...

His hat to cover his head...

His booties to warm his tootsies...

He was not sure about being buckled up...

But he warmed up to the idea since he was going home...

We left the hosptial...

And entered our new house together...

We showed him his new space...

Then it was time for a photo shoot...

Finally we tucked our little glow worm in and we all went to sleep in the same room under the same roof for the first time.

Thank you for all the prayers, thoughts, cards, gifts and help during the last 10 days. God has truly blessed us with a beautiful healthy baby boy, wonderful family and caring friends. Thank you so much. We will keep you posted on his progress (and ours).

Auntie M

Here is a great picture of Auntie M enjoying her time with Sam.
She will get to come and see him again before she moves to Dallas.

OUR HOUSE

Welcome to our new house.

We bought a house in Germantown in May and have been painting and working on it getting ready to move in on June 15th. Yup...June 15th.

As you have seen we now have a baby to bring in the new house. A big THANKS goes out to Cary and Lori Duncan for moving us while we were in the hospital having Sam.

We painted over all the Yellow in the house and it looks great.

My dad and I built a fence for our dog Hershey to live in when she joins us soon.

No contest, that the best looking room in the house is Sam's! We bought unpainted furinture and stained it. Grampa Dave built the crib and stained it (which somehow I did not get a picture of at the time of this post, next time). Deanna's idea was a safari and it looks great!

Once we get settled we look forward to family and friends visiting.

Finally, I graduated on May 25th and am now awaiting my license. I will be working for Kroger in Memphis as a floater.

(I could not get the picture to flip and they all are like this so either flip your screen or just turn your head)

Welcome to our family site

WELCOME TO OUR FAMILY SITE

Over the past week we have had many changes.
ALL HAVE BEEN FOR THE GOOD!!!
GOD has Truly Blessed our lives.
First and Foremost he has brought SAM (Samuel David) into our lives.
He was born on June 15, 2007.
He weighed 3 lbs 14 oz. and was 17.5" long!!

He had to go to the NICU because he was preterm and under 4 lbs.

He has since moved to the Step down unit and we go and feed him every 4 hours.

Deanna and I are so proud of him and how he is doing. He is eating about half of what he needs right now and the rest is being fed via a tube through his nose. But he is doing great and we hope he will be coming home soon!

We would love for him to be at home with us but we are taking every opportunity to hold him and love him.Pop-Pop was excited about seeing Sam!

So was Mama Nise

Three generations of the Gilbert men

Gramma Sherry also enjoyed looking into those baby blues.

I will also attach a link to our Picassa site where all his pictures will be.

Thank you for your prayers and everything. We will keep you up to date.
