Wow! So sorry it's been this long between updates. Unfortunately our computer died of old age and the exterior hard drive holding our photos has not been connected to the laptop. So I can't show you pictures of the fabulous summer we had but I can tell you about it! Since the last update, Beth, Aubrey and Rylan got to come down for a week in May to hang out and watch Dad graduate from college (woohoo!!). He graduated from Union University with a degree in Accounting on May 17th after 4 1/2 years of going back to school. We had a big party for him before the ceremony and then got to watch him receive his diploma. We are so proud of him! After the ceremony, Chris, Sam, Beth, Aubrey, Rylan and I all piled into our rented van and drove through the night to Erie. It was an adventure! We got to spend the week together, go to Aubrey's 3rd birthday party (princess themed of course), go to Niagara Falls and finish the week by traveling to Ohio to see our cousin JJ get married to his fiance Audrey. It was a great time! Then Chris, Sam and I drove back home and Chris had to get back to work. Before long Curtis, Beth, Aubrey & Rylan got to come back to the south for the month of June. We got to spend more time together, have Sam's first birthday party, found out that we are having another boy(yeah!), have Aubrey's birthday party at Chuck E Cheese, go to the zoo, and get the kids' pictures made. Then the Garrison's had to head back north.
Chris managed to get a few days off around the 4th of July so we made a quick trip to Chattanooga. Sam hadn't been since he was 3 months old! We got to spend time with Grampa Dave and Gramma Sherry, go to the Chattanooga Aquarium with "Uncle" Jeremy, ride the carousel at Coolidge Park, and see really cool fireworks! Then we came home and got to see even more fireworks! Sam loved them!
Before we knew it, it was time to work on Sam's new room so that the baby can have the crib when he comes. The theme for Sam's big boy room of course is... UT! We painted one wall Volunteer Orange and the others a soft gray. His room is all about sports. Chris built a platform for a twin mattress and Sam is loving sleeping in his big boy bed.
We live right across the street from a playground and Sam has finally gotten big enough to enjoy it. It's hard to tell who has more fun over on the swings and slides...Chris or Sam!
Chris and I recently got to get away for a weekend while Sam spent some time with his PopPop and Mama Nise in Jackson. We went to Nashville and enjoyed shopping and eating in cool restaurants like the Aquarium and Rainforest Cafe. We also got to go to the Opryland Hotel and walk around. I haven't been there since I was little and it is really beautiful inside! Sam had a blast hanging out with everyone and being Mr. Entertainer.
Sam started preschool at Germantown Church of Christ at the beginning of the month and is loving it. "Miss" Emily says that he is the class clown and has to go to sleep first so he doesn't keep the others up at naptime!
We also went to the Germantown Festival in September and enjoyed the wonderful weather. Sam got to take a pony ride and thought that it was pretty cool.
I am now 33 weeks along and doing well. I get ultrasounds every 2 weeks to make sure the baby is growing properly and so far he is about 4 and a half pounds. It's definitely a different pregnancy than Sam's was! We have decided to name this baby Tucker Adam. Chris and I can't wait to meet him!
As you can tell, we are loving where we are right now. Our community, church family, friends and home are more wonderful than we could have imagined and God has truly blessed us. We look forward to our new addition and promise to keep the blog updated in the future!
